Tell The Truth

A live salon series with Dr. Diana Hill

We’re all trying to take the next step, but are we telling the truth about what’s really in the way?

Clinical psychologist and author of Wise Effort, Dr. Diana Hill, has spent over 15 years helping people get to the truth of things—through her clinical practice in therapy, the hundreds of thought leaders she’s coached and counseled, and as a mediation teacher exploring universal truths.

Now Diana wants to help you to find your truth by bringing that work to a live in-person salon series.

A group of people attending a seminar or conference, sitting and listening attentively in a room with shelves and artwork in the background.
Group of women chatting outdoors on a paved surface near a green hillside with trees, some holding drinks, dressed in casual summer clothes.
People socializing at an indoor event, some are talking and smiling.
WHY THIS SERIES?

Because real progress requires real attention (and real honesty).

In a world of conflicting opinions, disconnection, and performance, we’re flooded with advice yet hungry for conversations that are genuine and direct.Tell the Truth is not a lecture series. It’s not aanother how-to program. And it’s not a truth-or-dare party. It’s a startlingly intimate, delightfully unscripted salon series that examines what’s really happening in our lives, our bodies, our relationships, and our culture.

WHAT WE’LL EXAMINE

This series is about telling the truth.

In each session, Diana sits in conversation with a captivating innovator, thinker, or creative leader to ask intimate questions and invite honest answers. In her fearless yet disarming style she dismantles the lies we tell ourselves to bring a psychological perspective to the tensions that we are all grappling with.

Guests are invited to continue the conversation.

A group of diverse adults seated in an auditorium or meeting space, attentively listening, with a woman in the background standing and smiling near wooden cabinets.
A woman with blonde hair speaking into a microphone at a presentation or event, wearing a black top and a beige skirt with black polka dots, in front of an audience.
Two women are seated on stage, engaging in a discussion during a panel or talk. One woman on the left has shoulder-length blonde hair, wearing a sleeveless beige top, and is listening. The other woman on the right has long blonde hair, wearing a dark sleeveless dress, and is speaking with her hands. A small round table between them holds a bouquet of pink tulips in a vase and a book titled 'wise effort' by Diana Hill, PhD. The background is plain and white, with audience members visible in the foreground.

Together, we’ll tell the truth about…

  • Outline drawing of a flower with a single petal and a stem

    Health

What it's really made of, beyond optimization, hacks, and performance

  • Outline of a single flower without details or colors

    Creativity

How opening to beauty also means opening to loss

  • A simple black line drawing of a flower with five petals and a central stamen.

    Intimacy

The truth that when we stop pretending, we get close

  • Silhouette of a flower with five petals and a curved stem.

    Livelihood

What our ambition is serving, and what it's costing us

ABOUT THE HOST

Dr. Diana Hill

A woman with long blonde hair smiling, sitting on a white upholstered chair with nailhead trim, positioned near an open door with sunlight streaming in, revealing a green outdoor background.

As a clinical psychologist, Diana has spent her career studying what helps people navigate pivotal moments with more courage, compassion, and flexibility.

Her work bridges psychological science, contemplative practice, and the question at the center of an examined life: where are we putting our energy?

Diana graduated summa cum laude from UC Santa Barbara and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder in collaboration with Stanford University.

Today, Diana is a leading voice in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and compassion-focused approaches. She is the author of four books, host of The Wise Effort Show, and an international speaker, trainer, and advisor.

At the heart of her personal and professional work is a willingness to ask the questions we often avoid:

What is true here?
Where is our energy actually going?
What becomes possible when we tell the truth
